Commissions and Residencies

Commissions

I accept commissions to compose songs and instrumental pieces about anything you can imagine! I work with heritage and cultural organisations to write new, original music about a particular topic, historic person, a place or event. I can also adapt my existing productions to fit a particular event or theme.

If you are an individual who wants to commemorate a special event such as a wedding or anniversary or if you are a business looking for music for a promotional film please do get in touch with your idea. I work remotely in my home studio or on location depending on the project.

Today 08.30 (Tue 9 Apr) I chat with @blokeonradio @drystoneradiouk ahead of my visit to #Settle Victoria Hall in May. 'Florence: the lesser known life & legacy of Florence Nightingale' tours again to celebrate #InternationalNursesDay Full list of dates: https://buff.ly/3UUn4TO

@RachelHann @DrJenniferAston @NorthumbriaHist Great to share creative engagements with archives with the students too - such as @ljordanmusic’s Sooner or Later, based on the report of a 1917 deputation to Lloyd George, which I commissioned as part of a @UKVote100 project about Votes for Women and WW1.

A review of #HerStories with thanks to Neil at @Fatea_Magazine for coming along to @SalisburyArts @WiltsCreative on #InternationalWomensDay. "well worth seeing. If the opportunity presents itself, take it." https://buff.ly/3VruQVK Photo credit: Neil King, FATEA

Louise de Bettignies was sentenced to death 16 March 1916 in Brussels. On 16 March 1920 a funeral was held in Lille where she was posthumously awarded the Cross of the Legion of Honor, the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 with palm, the British Military Medal and the OBE #QueenofSpies

For the 2018 anniversary of *some* women being granted the franchise, I was commissioned by the House of Commons to write a song. I will sing Sooner or Later tonight @WatersideArts as part of my #HerStories performance for #InternationalWomensDay

Final performance of #HerStories on this #InternationalWomensDay tour: Friday 15th March @WatersideArts #Manchester. Feedback from audiences so far: "Inspiring, entertaining, fun" "Uplifting, original, colourful" "A good night out"
